Nuno felting combines the technique of wet felting merino wool with the structure of silk fabric to make a lightweight and flexible textile.   You will learn key design considerations for making unique wraps and many ways to embellish your garment.  This can be your launching point for many creations to come!  The class is best for those with some felting experience, but beginners are also welcome.

Ages 15 – Adult

Bring: A one or two quart bowl, one bath towel, one hand towel, 3 pantyhose legs, waterproof marker (like Sharpie), preferred felting soap, or a dish detergent, a small bucket or dishpan, a plastic grocery bag, measuring tape, pen and notebook, scissors. Optional to bring:
These items can be helpful if you have or want them, but are not necessary to go out and purchase:10-12 oz of merino wool from your own stash if you don’t wish to purchase merino wool from the instructor, lightweight fuzzy yarns (ex. boucle or mohair), woven silk scraps (open weave like chiffon or gauze, not dense weaves like charmeuse or satin), wool prefelt- don’t worry, the instructor will have materials for class use; these are for adding to the surface design of your piece, plastic apron, olive oil soap if you prefer to felt with this type of soap, painter’s tape or drafting tape (not regular masking tape), rotary cutter and small mat.
