This drawing course will be an introduction to the lingo, techniques, and exercises of retraining our brains to “see” instead of just “look”. It is designed to help you become comfortable drawing with fun and creative approaches to learn tradition skills.
Topics covered will include: gesture drawing, positive and negative space, breaking 3D forms into simple shapes and line, intro to the color wheel, value, creating expression through line, pattern and color, simple perspective, and experimental drawing exercises.
Artists should bring the following supplies to the first class: Newsprint or large sketch pad, pencils, art eraser and gummy eraser, grayscale value of charcoal and/or conte crayons.
