Monstrous Love, by John Manderino, will be performed at Hammond Hall, Winter Harbor, on May 19 and 20 at 7pm and May 21 at 2pm.

Monstrous Love was one of the many plays submitted in the fall of 2016 to the MHTL playwriting contest.

This series of six short plays treats romantic relationships using the “monster” metaphor. Although the plays are hysterically hilarious, they speak to various kinds of love poignantly and honestly. “MONSTER” music holds the short plays together.

The plays will be rehearsed using different directors, techies, and cast members, providing a “lab” for members of the MHTL ensemble to try out their theater skills.

JOHN MANDERINO lives in Maine with his wife Marie, where he teaches college writing and provides coaching and editing services to other writers. He has published three novels, two short stories collections and a memoir with Academy Chicago. John has also written plays that have been performed at theater festivals and other venues. A stage version of his memoir Crying at Movies was produced.
