Saturday, August 7th 217 Films’ new documentary “John Marin: Let the Paint be Paint!” utilizes more than 70 of Marin’s paintings, drawings, and etchings, including works in the private collection of the Marin estate which have seldom been exhibited. Filmmaker Michael Maglaras will introduce his new documentary film about the American painter John Marin, one of the most important artistic figures of the first half of the 20th century. While fishing one day, the kids discover a treasure map and decide to set out on a quest to find their fortune. Wednesday, August 11th A reading of the play by Jan Buckaloo, which is set in Istanbul, Turkey in March 2003, on the eve of the American and coalition forces invasion of Iraq, brings unlikely strangers together in a strange world.
