The Schoodic Summer Chorus is a multi-generational a capella community chorus devoted to nurturing musicianship and community, in residence at Hammond Hall in Winter Harbor, Maine. Its members share a passion for singing beautiful and unusual music. Directed by singer and composer Anna Dembska, the chorus is open to anyone who loves to sing. This summer, the Chorus will explore the meaning of “home” and the spirit of place with a cappella music ranging from Renaissance composer Heinrich Isaac to seminal new wave punk rockers, The Talking Heads, and traditions from the Balkans to Africa to American roots. We'll be performing at Hammond Hall to open the Schoodic Arts Festival, as well as two additional concerts in Addison and Millbridge.
