January 19: Winner of MHTL’s Maine Playwright’s Award
Kristin Leonard’s play, Crash, winner of the Meetinghouse Theatre Lab’s Maine Playwrights’ Award, will have a staged reading at Hammond Hall, Winter Harbor.
A series of 4 interconnected one act plays that deal with Life, Love and the Choices we make.
Join us for wine and cheese reception and an audience talk-back with the playwright after the performance.
Kristin is a mother, an educator, and a former actress & dancer (The Juilliard School). She holds an M.A. in English (Northern Arizona University) and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing (University of Southern Maine). Her critical and creative work have appeared in The Explicator, The Atlantic Online, Journal of South Texas English Studies, Borrowed Solace, Icons Literary Journal, and The Ekphrastic Review. She currently resides in Pittsfield, Maine, with her youngest daughter, two chihuahuas, and a border collie named “Wally.”
About Meetinghouse Theatre Lab
The Meetinghouse Theatre Lab is dedicated to creating an ensemble of performance artists who come together to excite the senses, push the limits, and transform the definition of create with the aim of growing as performers and enriching the humanity of all involved.
Since 2003 the Theatre Lab has presented readings, staged readings, and full productions, both classic and contemporary, that challenge accepted social norms and values, question reality, break down the “fourth wall”, explore the notion of “truth”. It is dedicated to creating a yearly ensemble of performance artists who come together to excite the senses, push the limits, and explore the definition of “create” with the aim of growing as performers and enriching the humanity of all involved.
