Traditional and contemporary folk music in Downeast Maine
O’McCrelli has been performing throughout eastern Maine for well over a decade. They bring to life tunes from the Celtic tradition, as well as newer folk songs from 1960’s onward. Each member of the band is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. O’McCrelli features tight vocal harmonies and instrumental tunes played on a rotating selection of guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, whistle, piano or button accordion, and bass. With hours of repertoire under their fingers, O’McCrelli brings their love of traditional music to every performance.
O’McCrelli is a versatile band, playing for backyard parties, weddings, community fundraisers, contra dances, and in pubs and formal concerts. Locally, O’McCrelli has opened for Dave Mallet when he came to Lubec a number of years back, as well as Crooked Still in Ellsworth. O’McCrelli released their debut album in 2015, which includes a handful of original instrumental tunes.
