Please join us in celebrating the art works of students from Sumner, Peninsula and Ella Lewis Schools!
The students at Ella Lewis and Peninsula School are taught art through a method called TAB:Teaching for Artistic Behavior. This means students are expected to explore, visualize, choose their own idea, gather the appropriate tools and media, set up their work area, and of course-create! Critical thinking is consistent in the art studio as students problem solve, persist, revise, and reflect. The pieces chosen for this event were chosen from our first round of W.O.W. (Wonderful, Original, Works of Art) projects. The art room is set up as a choice studio. For this round, students were allowed to choose from the drawing, painting, collage, and 3D centers. All of the work displayed are wonderful examples of students thinking, learning, and expressing art in their own way. – Sherry Young
