Create a small landscape quilt of Winter Harbor. We will compose our scenes plein air, sitting outside looking at our view with our fabrics, scissors, foam boards, and pins. Then quilt them at home and return to discuss finishes on a second morning.

Time:9am-1pm on Tuesday and
9am-12pm on Friday

Ages: Adult or younger teens with an adult

Location: Henry’s Cove

Bring List: Fabrics that look like rocks, trees, water, sky (batiks work well of printed blenders, or printed “landscape type” fabrics {look at the wrong side of the fabric too}) Instructor will have a variety of fabrics on hand as well. Small, pointy, very sharp scissors, short straight pins, Lawn chair for working outside (anything you will be comfortable sitting in/on for a few hours.) Materials that students should have at home: (see video) Sewing machine if you have one (preferably with a zigzag stitch, and the ability to lower the feed-dogs, a free-motion quilting foot is also helpful). Also this project can all be done by hand sewing/applique and hand quilting. Threads in rocks, trees, water, sky colors and black.
