Children’s Art Camp serves, among others, the student who is a 3rd generation fisherman, who took our quilting class in order to learn how to add sails to his handmade wooden boats that he will sell to buy his school clothes. It serves the young woman who took our workshop for making mittens from old sweaters because she wants to add to the products offered at her mother’s farm stand. It serves the boy who took Japanese book binding as a way to connect to his Asian ancestry. Each child in our programs arrives with a unique story and individual creative drive. Our mission is to create opportunities to honor and enrich that creative drive by connecting them to the artists in our community.
