Celebrate all things Maine by creating a unique block print postcard! Learn the techniques of relief hand-carving, block print design fundamentals, and how to hand-print on paper without a press.

Introduction to Printmaking 10/7/23
In this Introduction to block printing class, you will learn how to use this craft to create your own unique block print.
Block printing is a beautiful art form because of its graphic quality and handmade feel.
Please bring at least one simple 4” x 6” sketch or design inspiration. Simple is best! I will also have some template designs for you to choose from.
This class is ideal for beginners.
What you will learn: understand how to create a single-color block print; develop a clear understanding of the steps needed to plan, design and carve a successful print; hand burnish a print using softcut carving block and non-toxic water-based inks.
