Silverpoint is a drawing technique perfected by the Masters like Leonardo Da Vinci and others. It uses actual silver to draw on a prepared surface and over time the silver tarnishes bringing a beautiful patina to the drawing that nothing else compares to. Whimsical Shorebirds with Steve Valleau
Whimsical Shorebirds
This class will take place over two consecutive afternoons. The first session will be carving and sanding a Basswood bird cutout. The second session will be devoted to painting the bird carving and its wooden base with acrylic paint. The bird blank is relatively thin so although it will take less time than carving a fully round bird this project presents as many carving challenges.

This workshop offers an introduction to the cyanotype printing process through photographic print methods. Participants will experiment with a combination of natural, foraged materials and manufactured objects to create a series of unique prints. Gyotaku Fish Printing
Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese art form that began more than a century ago as a way to document the size of a caught fish. Sumi ink would be painted on one side of the fish, then the fish would be covered with rice paper and rubbed in order to create a very cool image.
